In case you've been wondering…
YES, there WILL be a 2022 MIWP 4th of July Parade entry, and it WILL be fabulous, with all the drama and insight you have come to expect from our dedicated team.
This year’s theme is a celebration of the MIWP trails system, an expansive and ever-improving network of which we are justifiably proud.
To make this a successful parade event, we need YOU to join us.
Everyone is welcome — individuals, families and kids of all ages, and all species!
For the cast of 1000s (or at least dozens), we need three groups of walkers (no float).
Come dressed as your favorite "character", one of:
Trail Blazers: Wear jeans and sturdy shoes. Bring shovels, rakes, loppers, or other trail-making tools.
Hikers: Wear khaki and hiking boots. Bring hiking poles if you've got 'em.
Trees: Wear neutral, and decorate yourself as a tree, e.g. use birch bark or sapling trees or branches, like balsam or poplar.
Be ready to make noise, and blaze (trails), hike, or leaf your way down the parade route.
We will bring a few additional costume elements to add on parade day, but bring whatever you can and we'll adapt on the day. Come one come all, ready to make noise and have fun.
Meet under the MIWP banner at the Marina at 10:00am prior to parade start — the parade usually starts at 10:30am.
