Location: Madeline Island School of Arts
The Wilderness Preserve will be hosting its 34th Annual Meeting this coming Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 27th, at the Madeline Island School of the Arts. The event will be an evening reception with an informal buffet of hearty hors d’oeuvres and wine service, catered again this year by our own Madeline Island Farmhouse. A social gathering and food service begins at 6:00 pm, with the program beginning at 7:30 pm. This year’s program features:

“THE GIFT OF THE LOON”
Noted author and environmental historian, Nancy Langston, explores the history and restoration of common loons in the upper Great Lakes region. She delves into how climate change, toxic chemicals, and energy extraction have affected loon populations, and ways we can ensure a hopeful future for loons as well as ourselves.
