/ MIWPBurroughs trailhead parking.
Entrance to Burroughs Trail.
We started at this alternate entrance since it was drier.
Alternate entrance is across from this address.
New Blazes mark the trails.
Wider Trails - Should be great for snowshoes & skis this winter!
New trails are nice and wide.
After several days of rain, waterproof footwear is a good idea.
New signs & maps at trail junction
Three large hemlocks.
A hemlock "nursery".
Tennis shoes ok, but they did get a bit wet and muddy. Waterproofs were a much better idea today.
As these pictures show, the guided hike on Saturday, September 22nd on the newly groomed and marked north trails was a bit damp, but with waterproof boots (or not), was a lovely adventure.
We spotted lots of fungi, and our guide Bonnie Matuseski had a wealth of interesting information to share about the fungi — and about other nature-related subjects as well! Very much worth a little mud!
