Group Mission
The mission of the MIWP Wilderness Tribe group is to encourage sharing observations and adventures in wilderness — particularly in the Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve — but also anywhere in the Apostle Islands and the four Wisconsin counties that touch the South Shore of Lake Superior. The beauty and majesty of our region offer a unique sense of place. Let's all share our experiences! This group is open to residents of Madeline Island and the surrounding community — and also to those who have become life-long lovers of the region, our history and heritage — and to anyone who has come to love and appreciate the wonder and beauty of the region. Share photos, stories, art and humor — any open communication that connects us to the Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve and the surrounding wilderness areas.
